Not Enough People Across The Country Applying For Mortgage Modifications, Targets Not Met

Specific information on lending institutions was released by the Administration, detailing the status of the loan modification programs for distressed borrowers. Mortgage Brokers who did not do enough to fix delinquent home loans were named on the list. The two mortgage companies that headed the list were Wells Fargo and Bank of America homeowners loan. These lenders, also received Federal loan stimulus money. It is the goal of the Obama administration to help more homeowners in the United States receive mortgage help with their customers loans.

Hopefully, according to the administration, they will reach their goal of modifying 500,000 home loans. Consumers across America, hope that this will increase from the 9% of borrowers that have been helped to ease the terms of their loans so far. The administration is feeling the pressure, as many home loans remain past due. Naming the underperforming mortgage lenders is one way to hopefully affect change. While the focus has been drawn to the least helpful mortgage lenders, other mortgage banks like JP Morgan Stanley and Saxon Mortgage were the most helpful to homeowners.

The mortgage lenders hope they can receive the modification targets so hopefully more consumers will apply to have their home loans modified. Once they receive clear guidelines from the government, they will begin to start offering more home loan change help. Some lending companies in each state though, think that they do need to do more to help troubled consumers. Seeing their names on the top of this dreaded list will hopefully cause these lenders to modify more loans. One way or another, more mortgages across America need to be modified by these lenders to help the economy.

The public wonders if the lending institutions will ever pick up the pace. Customers hope that if they are turned down for a homeowners loan modification, they will be able to find out why under the new across America and Federal guidelines. Filing for bankruptcy to get assistance with your home loan is not the answer. This may be their only option if the mortgage brokers do not start adjusting more loans.
